Input Constraints Lab

August 17, 2025 | v0.0.2.4

Define required or forbidden strings before generating questions to ensure outputs meet your needs. Try the Input Constraints lab.

Add Require, Prohibit, or Option fields so questions must include certain phrases, avoid others, or contain at least one of several alternatives.

Questions are checked and flagged when they don't satisfy your constraints.

Use it to:

  1. Enforce Academic Standards - Create question sets with required technical vocabulary while avoiding terms students haven't learned yet
  2. Build Professional Training - Generate role-play scenarios with industry-specific terminology that steers clear of problematic language
  3. Ensure Content Safety - Develop educational materials that avoid sensitive topics while maintaining realistic scenarios
  4. Control Specialized Domains - Create medical, legal, or technical training questions that must include specific protocols or compliance language
  5. Encourage Divergent Thinking - Use constraints to generate questions that must explore multiple perspectives or when you want to surface under-explored paths
